Specials
Overview
This season contains the Christmas Specials, one-off episodes where younger adventurers were able to traverse the Crystal Maze. Each episode was aired prior to the start of a new regular season, which provided a glimpse into the revised sets for each new series. Three episodes were hosted by Richard O'Brien, with the remaining two hosted by Ed Tudor-Pole.

Richard O'Brien stars as the Maze Master in a Christmas Special, leading a team of six young adventurers (Christine, Deborah, John, William, Catherine and Michael) around the eponymous Crystal Maze, in search of time crystals that will ultimately lead to the Crystal Dome and a chance of winning the star prize. NB: Michael Underwood would later go on to host Jungle Run, a childrens TV show very heavily based on the concept of the Crystal Maze.

Richard O'Brien stars as the Maze Master in a Christmas Special, leading a team of six young adventurers (Craig, Sonali, Kate, Steven, Paul and Anna) around the eponymous Crystal Maze, in search of time crystals that will ultimately lead to the Crystal Dome and a chance of winning the star prize.

Ed Tudor-Pole stars as the Maze Master in a Christmas Special, leading a team of six young adventurers (Kenny, Irfan, Emma, Helen, Kertreena and Kenneth) around the eponymous Crystal Maze, in search of time crystals that will ultimately lead to the Crystal Dome and a chance of winning the star prize.
